Book Review: The Saturday Big Tent Wedding Party (Number 12 in The No.1 Ladies’ Detective Agency) by Alexander McCall Smith

The Saturday Big Tent Wedding Party

Who can’t resist another instalment of The No.1 Ladies’ Detective Agency ? I have been reading these for years and find that they are always a spot of light relief in between heavier reads.

The traditionally built Mma Ramotswe takes a bit of back seat in this edition as we focus on the impending and long awaited wedding of Mma Makutsi.

As usual, The Saturday Big Tent Wedding Party, is a mix of a few mysteries and the personal goings on of the gang that we have got to know so well. Although Mma Makutsi can be somewhat of a pushy and silly character, with her talking shoes, those readers who have followed the series from the beginning and remember her difficult past will be happy to see her finally land on her well dressed feet and secure one of the most eligible bachelors in Botswana.
