Getting my culture on

Sadler's Wells

Every now and again I do love a trip to the theatre, so this weekend was a real treat when I made my way to the Lilian Baylis Studio at Sadler’s Wells to see Lyrikal Fearta – The Letter and other works by Jonzi D.

The work explores the responses to Jonzi D being offered an MBE in 2011. This was a really interesting piece and sparked some interesting debate during the Q&A session we were treated to at the end of the show.

Other performances on the night included OneNess Sankara who performed the harrowing  ‘Colours’ followed by the amusing and melencoly ‘Orange Wednesdays’. Followed by two dance performances by Jane Sekonya and Tabu Flo who are a dance troop visiting from Uganda.

The Lilian Baylis Studio is a really nice and intimate space, it was a great show and I’m really looking forward to future projects by Jonzi D.

All photography taken with my iphone5, imagery belongs to Lilo Loves.
